Only once has the winner finished under par for the last three holes at the Quail Hollow. Rod Pampling has done plenty of miles this week just to get a chance to play them. After finishing on 8 under last week in New Orleans he was 5th alternate for the Wells Fargo. He drove to Charlotte on Sunday and shot a bogey free 5 under in the 4 spot Monday qualifier. This got him into a six way play-off for the last 2 spots. He eventually got beaten on the 4th play-off hole. He wanted to keep playing so he got in the car and drove to Athens, Georgia, for the Stadion Classic on the Web.com tour. After his second practice round (they play 2 different courses) he was told by the PGA Tour that he was back to 1st alternate for the Wells Fargo and he better get back to Quail Hollow. Back in the car, no practice round he teed it up this morning and shot 69 and is currently 2 back of the lead.

Perserverance and hard work pay off again. There’s no other way. Stay strong Rod.
