The overswing is generally caused from bad concepts and as Gary says cannot be stopped by thinking “swing shorter”. This video has all the keys to the right sided swing, body shape, the clubface /body realationship and the main principles of turn direction.

Body Speed Vs Shaft Speed
Some players who initially get good results with the irons sometimes have trouble translating them to the Driver. This tends to happen when they try to get more speed the wrong way and get out of Shape.
Training the Body
Hi Gary and Team, I am 67 and play off a handicap of 9. I am really trying to keep my body in shape so I can improve my swing. Are there any exercises you would recommend doing to help train my body so it is easier to do the RSS? What muscles are the most […]
Over-Shape and Arm Direction
Many students who start working on the RSS can get over-shaped at set-up. It makes the body over-rotate early. In this lesson Gary fixed this students pattern very quickly by changing some common misconceptions about the RSS Shape and Arm Direction.
Shape and the Gap
Many students get over-shaped at set-up and it makes the body rotate too much over the right axis. It is then very difficult to get back to impact without straightening or spinning on. In this video Gary talks about over-shape and how it effects the leg gap back and down.
The Arms and the Body
This student has been working with Gary for about 3 months and has made some really big changes. In this video Gary explains how his arm direction is dictated by his Body Shape and initial turn direction. This is a great lesson for anyone who is steep and shut!
The Throwing Shape
In this video Gary explains to a student why he cannot lift his arms and the importance of having the correct body shape. Without the throwing shape the arms cannot lift and drop. Gary demonstrates the correct body and arm direction.
Shape and the squeeze Part 2
Gary uses the hill drill to give this student a feeling of the new motion. The before and after comparisson shows how the different body shapes affect transition.
Shape and the squeeze Part 1
This student did not like his steep downswing and deep divots. In this lesson Gary explains how the shape of the body determines the swing radius and path in transition from back to down. To get it right you need to have the correct arm radius and turn direction going back.
Head Angle and Too much Shape Part 1
Many students get the shape close but if the head and spine are not right it can create the look of too much shape and stop them being able to turn in the right direction. In this lesson Gary explains how the correct head angle and body shape are essential if you are going to […]

UK Instructors get shaped

The weather held out and Gary worked his magic on just about every attendee. Some amazing swing transformations that we will be posting shortly. Gary […]
Applying the Power
Most golfers try to generate power and speed from the outside in. They try to swing the club-head fast. If you have the correct Body Shape and Arm Structure it is much easier to generate shaft speed in the right direction and from the centre outward. This means you can apply the power and still […]
The Arm Action
If you have the Body Shape right going back then the arm action coming down can be direct and more powerful. In the RSS the right arm stays below the left and the left shoulder stays high coming down. It then slots into position and is ready to get out of the way.
The Bump: Then and Now
If you move out of your original Body Shape you will need a bigger lateral move across in transition. Many of the older players used to have big lateral moves. We have just uploaded a new video. Enjoy!

We have just posted some new video in the Members Area! Setting the Club without it rolling or over-hinging is almost impossible without the right Body Shape at set-up. Gary has used the Pre-set drill with a number of his tour players and in a recent lesson with Jan Stephenson. The drill really helps if […]
