Gary has used the Hammer Drill for many years to fix all kinds of issues. It demonstrates how the club and arms relate to the body angle and helps train the correct arm structure. It also helps give the feeling of the correct wrist angles as the sledge hammer gets too heavy to move if it is done incorrectly. The Hammer Drill is good for people who drag or close the club-face and also for arm-rollers. We have just posted a video of Gary showing some students how to do it correctly in Drills.

Gary, I like the Hammer Drill and it brings back memories. I had just taken up golf in Canada and was flying from Vancouver to Toronto in January 2005 (driving range golf only at this time of year) and I saw your drill in a U.S. golf magazine. At the time I had never heard of the RSS or the Australian Golf Pro Gary Edwin. Fast forward 5 years, I returned to my home in Geelong Australia and commenced lessons with Brad Lamb and now I make an annual visit to The Glades for a few lessons with Gary. Being an engineer I am an ardent fan of RSS – the concept of angles and the relative ease which amateurs can achieve the swing positions. See you in 2016.
