Rod Pampling has qualified for the US open at Pinehurst after shooting a 7 under par 65 at Scioto Country Club in his second qualifying round. The 36 hole qualifying event was held at Brookside Golf & Country Club and Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. He finished in 4th position guaranteeing him a start at Pinehurst no 2. Rod played US Open at Pinehurst when Michael Campbell won in 2005 .
